My favorite watch is a Tag Heuer Carrera. I started collecting with a Rolex Submariner, and also have a Breitling Navitimer.
I bought it with the first profit I made from my business. Such a cool, intricate little mechanical marvel.
A while ago, I took it in for service, and they sent it to Tag for the full factory clean and service, which is as important for a high end automatic watch as changing the oil in your car.
Tag lost it. They lost my watch. But with no arguing, no fuss, and no hesitation they gave me a brand new one with a fresh warranty!
Are you listening Comcast? This is how you take care of a customer. Admit wrong, do the right thing. It ain’t that hard.

Comcast would have literally told you to go fuck yourself and charged you shipping for sending back the thing they lost. They’re the worst.

Watches are one of those rare things for which there doesn’t appear to be a price ceiling. Figure out how to engineer $1M into a watch and someone will buy it.
Interestingly enough, they are also one of those rare things that the expensive versions are plainly worse at their core function than the cheap ones. (If you assume their core function to be keeping time. You could certainly argue that they are actually art, not clocks.)

Lol love this post. Love watches, and actually quite pleased with the lower end offerings I’ve acquired
Only commenting because we both know how funny the Tag to Comcast complaint is on many levels haha. And beer

That is awesome :) I like Tag and their watches.
I found that they have an outlet store near Houston. Probably the only one they have in America. Their discounts have tempted me soooooo much.
I bought a $850 leather jacket from them for $225. They were having a 75% off clearance one time. They usually have the previous year’s unsold jackets for ~$450 and other past year watches with discounts.
As much as I love these, I don’t think I live a life where I can guarantee that nothing will happen to them through the course of the day.
I’m not a gang member or anything, but its not fun and a little disconcerting to me to have 5 grand on your wrist everywhere you go. I feel like I can only wear it on certain occasions.
And with that in mind, I can think of many better ways to spend 5 grand.
But if I had the money to not care enough about 5 grand or had raging erections for watches, I’d feel differently.
